Challenges of Collaboration in a Small-Firm Network

The author identifies four levels of collaborative activity: the network-ideological level, project level, production level, and worker level. Fifth level, the partnership level, seems to be needed for mediating learning across the levels. This study anticipates a new phase of discussion on partnering, namely a shift of focus from alliance formation to alliance management and partnering competence.
